Getting started
How do I activate my license key?
Open BriefOnPoint, generate any note until the upgrade prompt appears, then click 'I already have a license key', paste your key, and click Activate. That's it — no account, no login.
Where do I find my license key?
It was emailed to you right after purchase. Check your spam folder if you don't see it. If you still can't find it, use the recovery tool below.
How do I download the app?
Go to briefonpoint.com/download and click the button for your operating system — Windows, Mac, or Linux. The app is a one-time download, no account required.
Privacy & offline use
Does BriefOnPoint really work offline?
Yes, completely. The AI model runs directly on your computer — your transcript text never leaves your device for note generation. The only time the app uses internet is for license activation, which is a one-time step.
Do you store my meeting transcripts?
No. We have no server that receives or stores any meeting content. The only data we ever see is your email address and payment information (handled by Stripe). Your actual meeting content stays on your computer.
Can I use BriefOnPoint in a company with strict data policies?
Yes — because no meeting data leaves your device, BriefOnPoint is compatible with strict data handling policies. There is nothing to configure and no data processing agreements required for the note generation itself.
Plans & billing
What's included in the free plan?
5 transcripts per month, all note formats (full notes, quick summary, action items, email-ready), and fully offline processing. The free plan resets on the 1st of each month.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, anytime. Cancel through your Stripe billing portal — reply to your purchase receipt email for a direct link. Your notes and the app remain on your computer after cancellation.
What happens to my notes if I cancel?
Nothing — they stay exactly where they are on your computer. BriefOnPoint doesn't store your notes in the cloud, so there's nothing to lose access to. You simply return to the 5/month free tier.
How does the Team plan work?
One person subscribes and becomes the team admin. After payment, you receive an email with a link to your team management page where you can invite up to 4 teammates. Each teammate receives their own personal license key by email and activates it independently.

Which operating systems are supported?
Windows 10/11, macOS 11+, and Linux (Ubuntu 20.04+). Android is on the roadmap.
How much storage does BriefOnPoint need?
About 500MB total — the app itself is small, but it includes the AI model (~375MB) which downloads once on first launch and is cached locally for all future use.
The app is slow on my computer — what can I do?
The AI model runs on your CPU. On older or low-powered machines, note generation takes 10-30 seconds instead of 2-5 seconds — it still works, just slower. Closing other heavy applications while generating notes helps.
I switched computers. Can I use my license on the new one?
Yes — email hello@briefonpoint.com with your purchase email address and we'll reset your license. Pro licenses are tied to one device at a time; Team plan members each have their own key so no reset is needed.
